Stephen Hurd’s Blog

The adventures of W8BSD

First Post

So, this is my first post. I’m a long time FreeBSD user, and have fairly recently become a ports and src committer. I’ve been interested in amateur radio for some time, and am licensed in Canada (VE5BSD) and the USA (W8BSD). I’m a member of the HamRadio on FreeBSD project, and share maintainership of many of the amateur radio ports with the rest of the team.

The main reason for this blog is to document my station, and how I use FreeBSD to run it. I don’t plan on being strict about that though, so I may post on other subjects as they come up.

I’m also a terrible procrastinator however, so it’s more likely that once I set this up, this will remain the only post until I lose my commit bit. Only time will tell.
