Survey Of The FTP Mirrors
Simplifying assumptions
- At the moment, only
ftp*.FreeBSD.orgare surveyed. - The datestamps on the various directories are used to track when an upload has happened. This saves a great deal of I/O time on the portsmon server.
With these, and the addition of a new database table, we are able to compare the mirrors.
Note: I am using ftp4.FreeBSD.org as the
"canonical" site. It is on a rotor to show up as
ftp.FreeBSD.org, and I need a single point of
comparison, in case the two sites are out of sync.
I am working with the site maintainers to try to get all the sites in sync with the latest packages.
