6.1.2 The Controller Configuration Section
The optional controller section is used to configure things related to a particular controller. Each time a new controller section is detected, the following keywords apply to the next probed ISDN controller card in the system.
There is currently one valid keyword available for the controller section:
- [protocol](dss1, d64s) will be used to configure the D-channel protocol to be used. This keyword accepts the following parameters:
- Note: operation of i4b with the d64s parameter is currently not fully functional. For that reason the parameter for the protocol keyword MUST be the parameter dss1 !
- [firmware](pathname) Specify a pathname to the microcode to be downloaded into active cards. This keyword is used like firmware=/path/to/file to download the firmware to active controllers supported by the iavc driver (AVM B1, T1). This keyword is supported for all controller types, and causes I4B_CTRL_DOWNLOAD ioctl to be invoked with the specified file as an argument. NOTE: In systems equipped with both active and passive adapters, and the passive cards being detected first, dummy `controller' entries are required for the passive cards to get the correct firmwares to correct adapters.
