Progress Towards Better Categories

For the past two years, the bugbusters have been working to add 'tags' to PR synopses, as an attempt at more fine-grained categorization. Such tags as ata, bge, and tcp may already be familiar to you.

Initially these were ad-hoc. However, after doing some research on the current set of tags, it appeared that there was a fairly close correspondence between tags and manpages.

For the past few months, we have been restricting the tags to be more closely related to manpages. This is true both for kern and for bin PRs.
