What's Wrong With This Picture?

In general, if a committer does not see the PR go by on a
particular mailing list, it sinks into the sediment.
- At the moment, only the truly dedicated (or bored, or
crazy) are reading all the PRs as they come in. This because
it's like drinking from a firehose.
- The various weekly reminder-mails do not seem to be
effective, either.

There's no way to get notifications of just a subset of PRs, such as:

area of interest
-
'new in last week'
-
Further, there's no way to tell whether the difference between a raw
incoming PR and one that has been already worked on: they all
show up as 'open'. (As of 20090504:
4525 'open' PRs.
)
