Build Environments
Definition:
- Build Environment: the combination of processor architecture and FreeBSD major version
Examples: i386-4, i386-5, amd64-6, sparc64-7
Ports are generally created on i386, often i386-6, and then tested on others, preferentially, i386-5, amd64-6, i386-4, *-7.
