Characteristics of Ports Problem Reports (PRs)

  • Anyone can send a PR. send-pr(1) is standard on FreeBSD systems.
  • The database can have PRs of wildly varying quality. GNATS has no concept of "individual component", thus no concept of "maintainer of component"
  • Averaging 40 ports PRs per day
  • Somewhere between 500 and 1500 ports PRs, depending on stage of release cycle
