5.1 Unpacking the Distribution
The isdn4bsd package is distributed as a compressed tar file, lets assume its file name is i4b-00.70.00-beta-231298.tgz. You have to unpack this file somewhere in your kernel source tree in order to be able to compile it into your kernel. A standard place to do this is below the /usr/src directory, so cd to /usr/src and create a new directory named i4b. Now change to /usr/src/i4b and unpack the isdn4bsd distribution file into it: execute
tar xvzf /some/place/i4b-00.70.00-beta-231298.tgz
