DSL-S1 LED Operation

The following is a diagram of the end of the DSL-S1 card identifying the LEDs on the card.

Port Open

This LED has the following states:

Off	This could mean that the driver is not loaded into the Kernel, or the card has not been loaded with firmware.
On	The card has been loaded and started, but port has not been opened with ifup.
Flashing	The card has been loaded and the port open and running

Training Status

These LEDs will be illuminated in the following sequence during a normal training procedure:

1	G.hs startup sequence commenced
1&2	G.hs startup sequence completed
1&2&3	Data Mode

If the Training Status LEDs turn OFF before all three are illuminated it is likely there was a failure in the training procedure. This can be caused by mis-configuration or line conditions.

Note that the training procedure on a simple point-to-point DSL link can take 20-30 seconds, where there are intermediate DSL repeaters, it can take much longer.
