1. Introduction
---------------

  The FarSync Drivers for Linux software supports the FarSync range of PCI 
  cards, PCI Express cards and USB devices that provide connectivity with 
  synchronous serial data communications lines.

  This release is being made for the following FarSync devices:
    T4E+    a bus mastering 4-port Universal PCI card with support for 
            Manchester encoding
    T2Ue    a bus mastering 2-port Universal PCI Express card
    T4Ue    a bus mastering 4-port Universal PCI Express card
    TE1     a single port E1/T1 Universal PCI card
    T1U     a bus mastering 1-port Universal PCI card
    T2U     a bus mastering 2-port Universal PCI card
    T4U     a bus mastering 4-port Universal PCI card
    T4E     a bus mastering 4-port Universal PCI card with extended clocking
    Flex    a single port USB 1.1 and 2.0 device


2. Hardware and Software installation
-------------------------------------

  Please see the index.html file for installation and troubleshooting 
  procedures.  You will find the file in the /linux/doc directory on the CD
  ROM, and then it is installed to <instDir>/farsync-X.XX.X/doc when the 
  software is installed.  

  For async support on FarSync Flex, the firmware running on the FarSync
  Flex device may need to be updated.  Please use the ffflex update utility 
  to perform this update.  There are 32 and 64 bit versions of this utility.
  These should have been provided with this release in files:
    LinuxFlexUpdate_0101_32.tar.gz
    LinuxFlexUpdate_0101_64.tar.gz

3.1 Changes since release 1.09.05

  This is a maintenance release to fix compilation errors introduced by
  internal Kernel API changes.  Kernel versions up to 2.6.35 are supported
  by this release.
