-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Once apon a time, I had a pgp-2.6.3ia IDEA/RSA pgp key (0xD89CE319). All was well until I upgraded machines and forgot to bring over the secret key. The hard drive sat in an empty machine or on a shelf since then and I'd managed to accumulate 6 encrypted emails that I've never been able to read because it was inconvenient to reattach the drive and extract the keys. Well, 5 years later, I've finally got around to it, and I even managed to remember my passphrase! :-) Anyway, back in core.1 days we had a mini-keysigning, and my key was signed by phk and joerg. Unfortunately, the identities that they signed are on email addresses that no longer exist. phk signed Peter Wemm and joerg signed Peter Wemm . The signatures are a real mess. Anyway, given that IDEA/RSA keys are a bit antiquated and I'm not sure of the strength of the random number generation back then, I figured it was probably a good time to generate a fresher key. I've revoked some of the self-signatures of the identities that had no other signatures. I plan to revoke the entire key when its redundant. I have a new key: > gpg --fingerprint 7277717F pub 1024D/7277717F 2003-12-14 Peter Wemm Key fingerprint = 622B 2282 E92B 3BAB 57D1 A417 1512 AE52 7277 717F uid Peter Wemm sub 1024g/8B40D9D1 2003-12-14 Which I signed with my old key: > gpg --list-sigs 7277717F pub 1024D/7277717F 2003-12-14 Peter Wemm sig 3 7277717F 2003-12-19 Peter Wemm sig 3 D89CE319 2003-12-18 Peter Wemm ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ sig 3 7277717F 2003-12-14 Peter Wemm uid Peter Wemm sig 3 7277717F 2003-12-19 Peter Wemm sub 1024g/8B40D9D1 2003-12-14 sig 7277717F 2003-12-14 Peter Wemm > gpg --list-sigs D89CE319 pub 1024R/D89CE319 1995-04-02 Peter Wemm sig D89CE319 1997-10-06 Peter Wemm ... uid Peter Wemm sig D89CE319 1996-06-02 Peter Wemm sig 3 7277717F 2003-12-15 Peter Wemm sig 0358FCBD 1997-09-05 Poul-Henning Kamp ... uid Peter Wemm sig D89CE319 1996-06-02 Peter Wemm sig 76A3F7B1 1997-02-15 Joerg Wunsch ... So anyway, now I'm out soliciting for a couple of fresher signatures. If anybody is willing to accept my signature from my old key on this request, and its certification chain up via phk and joerg, and the fact that I've updated the handbook (ie: I have the peter@freebsd.org ssh secret key too) as sufficient to give me a signature, I'd certainly appreciate it. :-) To be clear, this is the key that I want signed: - -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (FreeBSD) mQGiBD/cL+kRBADyfngfwEzlkPcYbnZ/kOEQj+yTTfMly7VCKT/k6yEillcMsWwN jYmuHJuwS6DF7jb3Hj7UH3jyoEPVYypcvsHE3YtgzLRqJjKmysXz3keeml/BrYwC 9jrhnFFYhw3ao+9px7cbltG/dDVyNpJnUOtNgSXNrXQevMKLLr3dhUF5WwCgo/gm a//7rKXpenFUzI+fzmA3EmED+gL1FSqgePApUlB3gJ+Mb0lWHcEcdFzr3qKL48zu +hQBkqmco5kt7t+OnqanIaKVAyGcj/oED4J0oCBPmuxicGigllQwxuwNva2fcsXx mwoTeCYUMEdNvYyIl2wu/v4O2toTLPiUWvJLdbqUckJ0u8TfTPL5DcTQstQ3CNrP Rq1MA/9EBsS2sDdN4uBc8VlzVW5KBw546MvcujjB3MgnPvX6VaNv3S5D+ppjOow7 cz5oUQerEIosLfJ5jxEDcidLdl2gilex/9BJ8z/4LxpD5I1Wp07NkylZiehyhM+9 VbZTXuO2I3sRVow2Au+aC96gJYiFWQZwXRXDsDlV55xZDpD3SrQbUGV0ZXIgV2Vt bSA8cGV0ZXJAd2VtbS5vcmc+iGEEExECACECGwMGCwkIBwMCAxUCAwMWAgECHgEC F4AFAj/jObACGQEACgkQFRKuUnJ3cX/UMgCgiDb4NrQDYLT4/YIz98nbNyIyw6kA mgPrdJ8i9afmBZAOzPpDrhiCL4csiJwEEwECAAYFAj/h/+sACgkQSoY3Ydic4xlD wgQAuP1/oG8nJucJVxJZadsy4NxkF9jKUNPYW3/rr84Xb+5EpYixJA5cHv4t5CRg 6xC4T8EIjJUhx06UYvKkowdX4ibLDgk9Gz3OGYCvLHjBqpIn7vDgI2TVPWhmtjcU uYe1K1VocBLfBuS7TGCEDOt4fQ6rJxPqOhXG3keQIDL6+T2IXgQTEQIAHgUCP9wv 6QIbAwYLCQgHAwIDFQIDAxYCAQIeAQIXgAAKCRAVEq5Scndxf88tAJ9aB1A98OfV uSPQJSSruNnKfVWbpgCeJPFU6tvMs5UBbhPqWuGo7TbDje60HlBldGVyIFdlbW0g PHBldGVyQEZyZWVCU0QuT1JHPoheBBMRAgAfBQI/4zmPAhsDBwsJCAcDAgEDFQID AxYCAQIeAQIXgAAKCRAVEq5Scndxf6nDAJ90HHrGqTIN9GRzuugJKwiV1OUTgwCW Pq1xlFLmb5BgZS76GP0UVTWdD7kBDQQ/3C/rEAQAvF74xvJOmZsHE28prX3VKNxz uCPLz18gJdsnGtbK5dB4O+N4SPWE5Mq1WkuRdo7UC8zpK/Ir4YkQsuIxRjFDyjAp wFjQk/NlFteMT7wa76TcEMPaPdSJLmgdDgrvlFnaoHQ+ko8v94KL0Wys5MBbfKe6 a4z2IgGggGv9l4/pw58ABA0EAJNBClmUNxIc4uP8QwohonWiBrnm5HvSUHSiE+ql RxcOyIJY05YTnu+9ScsTVatzVBfV7FgYq2xC0N/2J9E7OA35P4v/H0+zjL9oeP27 UBihenGsK3RS6gfGyYnL/rrHv/4FhPefsIl19lzNtejBndwvH/d9gnEk2F2EGGBM J5IBiEkEGBECAAkFAj/cL+sCGwwACgkQFRKuUnJ3cX+l2gCfdlAJknasbC4mtkB2 x0XC34n3j3wAnjtHanQo6xJMjxhmoV3g3Fa76TvI =UFr9 - -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Its also available from the keyservers, for example: > gpg --recv-key 7277717F # fetch from keyserver if you dont already have it > gpg --fingerprint 7277717F #check fingerprints against finger and handbook > gpg --sign-key 7277717F # hint hint :-) > gpg --send-key 7277717F # submit back to keyserver > gpg --armor --export 7277717F | mail peter@freebsd.org # sends a copy back to me as well.
