A glossary of words which may be unfamiliar to people. Please contact me to if you would like any other words explained.
Berkeley Software Distribution. A distribution of the UNIX(tm) operating system that was distributed by the University of California, Berkeley. In 1993, the University released its source base to the public, and various volunteer projects (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD) have been carrying forward development of the OS since then.
The smallest unit of local self-government, comprising of a cluster of villages. Representatives are elected from these villages and constitute the Gram Panchayat.
Movement for Alternatives and Youth Awareness. A non-government organization working with various child related issues in Karnataka, India. They have a website at http://www.mayaindia.org/.
A meeting of all people in the community to discuss educational issues.
