5.3 Kernel Configuration for 5.3 Kernel Configuration for 5.4 Kernel Configuration for

5.3.1 FreeBSD 4.x and 5.x

Because of the i4b architecture changes, some PnP cards got their own driver:

Card Type FreeBSD 4.x FreeBSD >=5.x Notes
AVM Fritz!Card PnP device ifpnp0 device ifpnp 1
Teles 16.3c PnP device ihfc0 device ihfc 1 also AcerISDN P10
Siemens based cards device isic0 device isic 1 see the list of supported cards

Because ISA PnP cards are automatically configured by the BIOS4or the Operating System, there is no need to specify i/o-port, memory or interrupt values in the kernel configuration file, so you need a line like this for your Siemens/Infineon-chipset based PnP card:

device isic0

For the Siemens/Infineon-chipset based cards, you still have to supply an options string, for example:

options ``ELSA_QS1ISA''

for an ELSA QuickStep 1000pro ISA PnP card.
