The isdn daemon isdnd is the central workhouse of the isdn4bsd package. After a custom configuration by its user, it is responsible for
- calling out when requested by the kernel components
- verifying if someone calling in is allowed to call in
- starting additional programs or scripts when configured to do so or when special conditions become true
- closing connections
- all retry and recovery activities.
